The Cooperation Council between the European Union (EU) and Georgia held its tenth Meeting in Luxemburg on October 26th. The Georgian delegation was headed by Grigol Vashadze, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and the European delegation was headed by Karl Bildt, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, which holds the current presidency of the EU.
During the Cooperation Council, the parties discussed the implementation of the EU-Georgia European Neighborhood Policy Action Plan and issues connected with enhancing of EU-Georgia relations, including prospects for the negotiation of a new EU-Georgia Association Agreement within the framework of the Eastern Partnership. Cooperation Council also discussed the role of European Union in the conflict settlement. EU reiterated its commitment to Georgia’s security and stability, based on full respect for the principles of independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
