Norwegian-based oil and gas companies Statoil and Norsk Hydro merged two years ago, forming StatoilHydro. Following the successful completion of the merger process, StatoilHydro’s Annual General Meeting in May 2009 decided that the company should retain the STATOIL name and get a new corporate identity.
